Disclaimer
Last updated: July 1, 2026
Please read this disclaimer carefully before using Request a Visa. Request a Visa is a trade name (Chamber of Commerce 65752376, VAT NL002452287B94), established at Pastoor Petersstraat 170-46, 5612 LW Eindhoven, the Netherlands, reachable at info@requestavisa.com. We are an independent, commercial service provider that reviews and submits travel authorisations and e-visas (including the ESTA for the United States, the eTA for Canada, and e-visas for Egypt, India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka) on your behalf to the official portal of the relevant authority. This disclaimer describes what you may and may not expect from us. The full, binding arrangements are set out in our Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, our Cookie Policy and our Right of Withdrawal Policy; in the event of any conflict, those documents take precedence over this disclaimer.
1. We are not the government
Request a Visa is a private, independent service provider. We are not a government, ministry, embassy, consulate or visa centre, and we are in no way connected to, affiliated with, authorised by or approved by any government or governmental body. This website is not an official government website.
Our service consists of reviewing, organising and submitting your application on your behalf to the official portal of the relevant authority, together with the associated support. We ourselves do not issue any travel authorisation or visa. The authority of your destination decides on your application; we are not a party to that decision.
Names such as ESTA, eTA and e-visa, and the names of countries and agencies, are the property of the relevant governments. We use these names solely in a descriptive manner to indicate which service you are obtaining from us. This use does not imply any cooperation with, approval by or affiliation with those governments.
2. You can also submit the application yourself directly
You are not obliged to use our service. You can also apply for any travel authorisation and any e-visa yourself, directly through the official portal of the relevant authority. In many cases this is cheaper than our service and sometimes free of charge, depending on the destination.
With us, you pay for convenience: we take care of completing the form, checking for common mistakes, submitting the application and providing customer service, in an environment available in Dutch, English and German. We mention this alternative deliberately and transparently, so that you can make an informed choice.
3. Our price is a service fee
The amount you pay us is our service fee for performing our own service: the review and submission of your application. This fee is separate from, and may be in addition to, any official government fees that apply to the relevant travel authorisation.
We display a fixed total price in advance, with no hidden costs. That price is due for the service we perform, regardless of the outcome of the application. We are not a payment service provider and do not hold third-party funds; the payment itself is processed through our payment partner.
You cannot derive any rights from prices, offers and texts on this website where there is an obvious writing, printing or programming error. The price that applies is the price you confirmed when placing your application.
4. No guarantee of approval or entry
The decision to grant, refuse, postpone or revoke a travel authorisation or visa lies solely with the competent authority of your destination. We have no influence over this and give no guarantee whatsoever that your application will be approved.
Even an approved travel authorisation or visa does not guarantee actual entry into the country. The border or customs authority on site may still refuse you entry. This is entirely beyond our influence and responsibility.
Our obligation is an obligation of means: we ensure that your application is submitted carefully and in good time to the correct portal. We do not commit ourselves to any particular result.
5. Processing times are an estimate, not a guarantee
Any processing and delivery times stated are indicative and never guaranteed. The actual processing time is determined by the relevant authority and may vary due to high demand, checks, technical failures at the government portal, or additional questions from the authority.
If you apply only shortly before departure, you accept the risk that the application will not be processed in time. We are not liable for delays attributable to the authority, to incomplete or incorrect data, or to circumstances beyond our control.
6. You are responsible for the accuracy of your data
You alone are responsible for the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all data and documents you provide, including your name, date and place of birth, nationality, passport number and passport validity. We submit your application on the basis of the data you provide.
Costs and damage arising because your data was provided incorrectly, incompletely or too late are for your own account and risk. This also applies to a refusal, an unusable document or a duplicate application resulting from this. In such cases, there is no right to a refund of the service fee.
You are responsible for checking the current entry requirements of your destination yourself, including the required passport validity, any vaccination or transit requirements and other conditions. Our service does not release you from that personal responsibility.
7. Authorisation and applications for others
By placing your application, you expressly authorise Request a Visa to submit your personal and passport data on your behalf to the relevant authority and to process and forward that data for that purpose.
If you apply on behalf of another person, for example a family member or fellow traveller, you declare that you are authorised to do so and that you are responsible for the accuracy of the data provided. For a minor, an application may only be made by an authorised parent or guardian; our service is not intended for use by minors themselves.
The use of a false or stolen identity, or applying on behalf of another person without their consent, is not permitted. We may refuse or suspend an application where fraud is suspected or where there is a match on a sanctions list.
8. Right of withdrawal: immediate performance at your request
As a consumer, in principle you have a fourteen-day cooling-off period for a distance contract. Because our service is a service performed immediately at your request, this right of withdrawal lapses as soon as we have fully performed the service with your express prior consent.
When placing your application, you expressly request us to begin performance immediately and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. Do you wish to withdraw before we have begun performance? Then contact us within fourteen days at info@requestavisa.com; in that case we will refund you to the extent that we have not yet begun performance.
The full arrangement, including the model withdrawal form, can be found on our Right of Withdrawal page and in our Terms and Conditions.
9. Refunds after refusal or cancellation
If your application is refused by the authority after we have correctly submitted it, we have delivered our service and the service fee is in principle non-refundable. The refusal is, after all, a decision of the authority and not a shortcoming on our part.
There is no right to a refund in the case of a refusal resulting from data you provided incorrectly or incompletely, in the case of a duplicate or unintended application on your part, in the case of a change to your travel plans, or where you have in the meantime applied directly with the authority yourself.
Apart from this, we apply a reasonable goodwill policy. If a technical error is attributable solely to our side, or if we have not yet begun performance, we may reasonably refund you in full or in part. The exact conditions and the refund procedure are set out in our Terms and Conditions.
10. Chargebacks
If you disagree with something or believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us first at info@requestavisa.com. We resolve most situations quickly and by mutual agreement. We ask you to consider a chargeback or reversal through your bank or payment provider only after you have completed our internal complaints and refund process.
We retain evidence of your consent, of your request for immediate performance and waiver of the right of withdrawal, and of the actual delivery of the service. In the event of an unjustified reversal for a service that has already been correctly delivered, we reserve the right to reclaim the amount and the associated costs and to suspend access to the service. We may report fraudulent reversals, and these may lead to a block.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is at all times limited to no more than the amount you have paid us for the relevant application. Liability for indirect and consequential damage is excluded, including in any event lost profit, missed flights, booked trips, accommodation costs, and non-material damage.
We are not liable for the acts or omissions of authorities, embassies, consulates, visa centres, courier services or other third parties, including a refusal, delay or revocation of a travel authorisation, for whatever reason. Nor are we liable for failures or unavailability of the government portal, the payment service, the hosting party or the internet.
The information on this website is administrative and general in nature and does not constitute legal or immigration advice. These limitations of liability do not apply to damage resulting from intent or deliberate recklessness on our part, and they do not affect your mandatory consumer rights.
12. Force majeure
We are not obliged to fulfil any obligation if we are prevented from doing so by force majeure. By force majeure we understand, among other things: government measures, the modification or closure of a government portal, changes to entry or visa rules, failures at our service providers, cyberattacks, power or internet outages, pandemic, war and natural disasters.
In the event of force majeure, our obligations are suspended. If performance becomes permanently impossible, the agreement may be dissolved, in which case we will provide a proportional refund for the part of the service that has not yet been performed.
13. Changes to entry and visa rules
Rules concerning travel authorisations, e-visas and entry may be changed by the relevant authority at any time. We do our best to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that the information is complete, current or error-free. You cannot derive any rights from the information on this site.
For binding and up-to-date requirements, always consult the official source of your destination. A change to the rules by the authority is beyond our risk and does not give a right to a refund where our service has already been performed.
14. Processing of your personal data
To perform our service, we process your personal and passport data and, depending on the destination, a passport scan and passport photo. We handle this with care and process no more data than necessary. The full explanation, including the legal bases and retention periods, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
To deliver our service, we engage processors, among others for payment, storage, hosting, email and the automatic reading of your passport data. The required data protection arrangements have been made with these parties. Which parties these are and for what purpose can be read in our Privacy Policy.
In order to submit your application, we forward the necessary data to the authority of your non-EU destination. This is necessary for the performance of the agreement with you. We have no influence over what the relevant authority subsequently does with this data. We explain the risks of this transfer in our Privacy Policy.
15. Automated processing and security
When reading your passport data, we use automated text recognition to speed up the form-filling. This automated processing does not make any decision with legal effect concerning you; you check the data and the authority decides on your application.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Should a data breach unexpectedly occur that poses a risk to you, we will act in accordance with the statutory notification obligation. You can read more about this in our Privacy Policy.
16. Cookies and advertising measurement
We place functional and necessary cookies that are required to make the website and the payment work. We place marketing and analytics cookies, including those for advertising measurement via Google, only after you have given your consent for this via the cookie banner.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Which cookies we use and how you manage them is set out in our Cookie Policy.
17. External links and intellectual property
This website may contain references to websites of governments or other third parties. We have no influence over, and are not responsible for, the content, availability or policies of those external sites.
The content of this website, including texts, design and the brand name Request a Visa, is protected. Copying, reproduction, automated reading or other use without our consent is not permitted.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the website and reserve the right to interrupt the service temporarily for maintenance or for other reasons.
18. Complaints, applicable law and disputes
Do you have a complaint about our service? Then email info@requestavisa.com with your name and application code. You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt and we aim to handle your complaint on the merits within fourteen days.
Dutch law applies to our service and to this disclaimer. Disputes will be submitted to the competent Dutch court, whereby as a consumer you retain the right to submit a dispute to the court that is competent under the law.
We may amend this disclaimer and our terms from time to time. The version applicable to your application is the version that applied at the time you placed the application. The current versions of all our legal documents can always be found on this website.
